MEMBERSHIP

AEMA Exists to Serve its Members.

Collaborating with our members, partners, key stakeholder groups and legislators, we are a powerful voice for the mining industry. We work hard to make your membership dollars count, and are proud of our reputation for providing the most value for your membership dollar.

Why Invest in AEMA?

  • We're an effective and proactive voice for the mining industry, successfully influencing the outcome of political dialogue, building effective working strategies with key elected officials, developing and coordinating industry's response to legislative and regulatory issues, and galvanizing the grassroots.

  • Our Annual Meeting and Exposition in December is the second-largest annual mining convention in the U.S. and is an important source of value for our members. It provides a strong technical program; prominent, informative speakers; timely and relevant short courses; a large trade show; and important social and networking opportunities with industry professionals. AEMA members receive substantial discounts on registration fees.

  • We host the AEMA Summer Summit in June in Spokane, Washington, and member receptions throughout the country in February and October, providing consistent opportunities to network and learn from others in the industry.

  • The AEMA Society is a professional development program chartered in 2021 to identify talented individuals in the mining industry, match them with mentors, and provide cross-disciplinary curriculum to program participants. The AEMA Society contributes to future generations of leaders in the mining industry and is designed to ensure that the wealth of knowledge inherent in the industry today is not lost, but rather shared and built upon.

  • Our newsletter, The AEMA Bulletin, keeps members informed on a multitude of issues and provides important insights and information related to the mining industry.

  • We promote a culture of health and safety, and our Statement of Environmental Principles communicates the modern mining industry’s commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainability.

  • Through our outreach to key stakeholders, the media, and the general public, we tell the mining industry’s story by emphasizing that mineral exploration and mining are the beginning of the supply chain and minerals are the essential ingredients of everyday life, helping the industry earn, maintain and enhance our social license to operate.

  • We are willing to fight to ensure that regulatory actions are legal, justified, and as cost-effective as possible, as demonstrated by our challenging illegal regulations in court and intervening when necessary to protect our members and their rights.

  • We offer a host of volunteer leadership opportunities through our board of trustees and an effective committee structure. Standing committees include Critical and Strategic Minerals, Environmental, Native American Relations & Outreach, Health and Safety, Public Lands, Public Outreach, Mining Law and Abandoned Mine Lands.

  • We are recognized as a cost-effective association, providing the most bang for your membership buck of any mining industry association. A well-connected, helpful and experienced professional staff is always ready to serve you and represent your interests, both in the public and in the political arenas, from state capitals all the way to Washington, D.C.
