This week, the American Exploration & Mining Association, National Mining Association and MiningMinnesota filed an amicus brief in support of Twin Metals Minnesota’s litigation aimed at regaining their long-held federal mineral leases, because we believe that responsibly mining the resources available in northeast Minnesota is essential to creating American jobs, transitioning to a cleaner future and bolstering domestic supply chains.
The Twin Metals project is incredibly important to our nation’s ability to reduce its reliance on foreign sources of the materials that are needed to meet the administration’s and the state of Minnesota’s decarbonization goals. Our import reliance recently reached an all-time high, posing great risk to our national security. The Twin Metals project is essential to reducing our dangerous dependence on foreign sources of critical minerals and creating reliable domestic supply chains.
We’re proud to support Twin Metals as they pursue development of Minnesota’s clean energy minerals and move forward a project that will operate under the highest labor and environmental standards.
