The American Exploration & Mining Association's (AEMA) Executive Director, Mark Compton, issued the following statement regarding a major step forward for the Resolution Copper project:
“AEMA welcomes the U.S. Forest Service announcement that they intend to publish the Final EIS and Draft Record of Decision for the Resolution Copper project in Arizona. This is a significant step towards securing our mineral supply chains and meeting skyrocketing demand, and we congratulate Resolution Copper for their steadfast commitment to do it right. With recent actions from China to restrict mineral exports, it’s clear we need to get serious about ramping up domestic mineral production. The U.S. has abundant, world-class mineral resources that can and should be responsibly developed. We can incentivize domestic mineral production and shorten the time it takes to get from exploration to production, all while upholding the highest environmental standards in the world.”
About AEMA: American Exploration & Mining Association is a 130 year old, 1,800 member, national association representing the minerals industry.
